She and husband Skip have lived in Birmingham Alabama since 1973. Her involvment in purebred dogs spans over 4 decades. Polly started seriously breeding and showing in the early 70's under the kennel prefix, "LEGEND", having finished over 50 American cocker Spaniels in all Varieties and colors with the exception of buff. She takes pride in having produced nine obedience-titled dogs, with dogs going in agility and fieldwork. In 1995 Polly started judging and is currently approved to judge eight Sporting Breeds and Junior Showmanship. She has judged in Australia, Sweden, Finland, Canada and Great Britain (with an entry of 266 cockers!) and from coast to coast in the United States. Certainly one of the greatest highlights of her judging career was 1999 when she was selected to judge the Black Variety at the prestigious Annual Flushing Spaniel Show. Polly is an American Spaniel Club Life member. Other affiliations are with the American Kennel Club Canin Health Foundation, Greater Birmingham Humane Society Life member, Birmingham Kennel Club, Cocker Spaniel Specalty Club of Georgia, American Dog Show Judges, Dog Judges Association of America and Judges Association of Georgia. While devotedto the purebred dog, other pleasures include American's National Parks, photography, canine coat color genetics and just being outside in the sunshine. Polly is known and acknowledged as an independent freethinking individual whose opinions about dogs are as respected as anyone today. Her devotion and love of the sport and the pure bred dog are surpassed only by her integrity and forthrightousness.
